Yamaha APX-5a Electric Acoustic Guitar.

A great guitar with a solid sound and easy to play.

I’ve been using this guitar a lot over the past year or so at many of my live shows. I’ve been very happy with the sound and feel of this little guitar. With 22 frets marked with standard dots it’s not really a small guitar, although it does have the appearance of one. The action is low making it very light on the touch, great for playing long sets without killing your fingers! It’s very slim making it a comfortable guitar to play, not to mention easy to transport. It comes equipped with a built in EQ that packs quite a punch. The sound from this guitar is pretty incredible. It has plenty of low end whilst keeping the bright tones of the middle and high ends. I replaced the original strap buttons with locking ones. Mainly because I don’t wanna risk the strap falling of on stage and the guitar slamming into the floor. I’ve tried the guitar with both Elixir strings and Martin strings. Both sound great! I suggest using mid to light gage strings.

This is another guitar that sits high on my favorite guitar list, and another one that I highly recommend buying. It’s also pretty good on the bank account

Maton Guitars. I love them!

So I have this Australian made Maton acoustic guitar. It’s a maton m225 natural series. It has a Spruce top, Queensland Maple back and sides, Rosewood fingerboard and bridge - natural finish. It’s all natural so it has no electric system. While this is the bottom of the Maton line, it is still an outstanding guitar. Fabulous Maton quality and unbeatable sound! Technically it’s not really mine, it’s my Brother in-laws. But he lives in Australia and said I could look after it. I first used it in 2009 when I recorded my demo CD Raining In Your Heart. Pretty much all the acoustic guitar work on that CD is the Maton. To hear the results for yourself click HERE.

I’ve also used the Maton at many of my live performances in and around Los Angeles. You can see some of my videos by clicking HERE. Overall I love this guitar. It’s by far the best guitar I have used. It’s like the Australian version of Martin but with a brighter sound. I've been using Elixir strings and they work great with this guitar. Although I will be trying out some Martin strings soon to see if I can attain a slightly warmer sound. I really want to try the more top of the range Maton’s and see what the electric acoustics play like. I’m pretty sure that I won’t be disappointed. Just like you won’t when you try one for yourself. This is one guitar manufacturer I would love to be endorsed by.

March 4th The Whisky A Go Go

The Whisky is Renowned for being one of the world’s most famous music venues, and Darryl Markette http://www.dmarkette.com a friend of mine from Youtube contacted me to say he had booked the show and wanted to know if I would join him on stage and play a few songs, so of course I said yes. He is flying all the way out here from Chicago to try and extend his ever growing fan base. So the more people that come the better.
